What the role is

With the shifts in the global order and deepening geopolitical tensions, we live in a world which is less predictable and secure. In recent years, global supply chains are increasingly being scrutinised for their ability to withstand shocks. Countries are reconfiguring trade networks and supply chains in the name of resilience and security. As a small and open economy with limited natural resources, Singapore needs to be prepared and reacts nimbly in the face of such changes . The Supply Chain and Economic Resilience Division (SCERD) is responsible for ensuring economic resilience and the resilience of Singapore’s critical supply chains. SCERD also oversees building and institutionalising resilience, operational preparedness and crisis management capabilities in the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

What you will be working on

In this role, you will: • Develop national and sectoral strategies to secure the resilience of Singapore’s supply chains for essential and critical goods and services, and to mitigate and withstand impact from external shocks; • Analyse and synthesize findings on critical sector supply chains, challenges and needs; • Build the division’s collaboration network with key stakeholders across the Government, industry and academia; • Strengthen supply chain intelligence and analysis capabilities.

What we are looking for

Requirements • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; • Able to work independently as well as in teams, and across multiple workstreams; • Aptitude for policy design, systems and analytical thinking, in order to deal with complex problems and recommend actionable solutions; • Possess a driven and self-starter attitude as well as resourcefulness in solving problems; • Good stakeholder management skills dealing both with internal and external stakeholders; and • Data analysis skills including data visualisation and the ability to extract insights from complex datasets.
