What you will be working on
The selected candidate will report to the Deputy Director (Security) and assist in various day-to-day functions. You will be tasked to:
• Supervise and monitor the deployment of Security personnel
• Manage and investigate incidents, which include security-related breaches and other occurrences
• Ensure reliability of security systems and equipment, by conducting regular system/equipment functional checks and implementing a thorough maintenance programme
• Conduct security manpower and system review/audits and perform horizon scanning for security-related news and issues
• Review existing security processes & procedures and benchmark best practices among government agencies and private establishments
• Keep abreast of latest security technology & equipment and conduct feasibility/evaluation studies, including cost-benefit analyses
• Drive Emergency Preparedness efforts including Business Continuity Planning, crisis response capability devlopment, emergency/contingency exercises and recommend mitigation actions for potential threats/pitfalls
• Monitor performance of security service providers
• Manage security related projects
What we are looking for
Requirements:
• Candidates should preferably be commissioned officers of the Singapore Armed Forces or Senior Officers of the Singapore Police Force
• Additionally, Senior Officers from other relevant uniformed organisations who meet the other requirements may also be considered
• Possess strong leadership qualities and good track record in the security industry
• Have relevant working experience and a sound knowledge of security principles, systems and procedures
• Demonstrate ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Note:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a one-year probationary contract in the first instance.
