You will be responsible for investigating and following up on planning infringements to ensure timely compliance with the development control requirements.
You will be involved in carrying out inspections on ground and interviewing persons acquainted with the case. For some cases, you will be working as a team, possibly including prosecutors and enforcement counterparts in other agencies for joint operations.
When there is an appeal against the enforcement action, you will be required to evaluate the merits of the appeals and make recommendations to the appropriate authority.

What you will be working on
You will be required to:
1. Investigate planning infringements involving conserved buildings.
2. Gather evidence through site inspections, interviews, and examination of historical records (e.g. approved architectural plans and photographs).
3. Recommend and administer appropriate enforcement actions.
4. Guide offenders on the requirements to remediate the offence and thereafter, verify compliance.
5. Respond to public complaints on possible breaches of URA’s conservation guidelines.
6. Coordinate with other government agencies to carry out joint enforcement against infringements involving conserved buildings.
7. Provide testimony in court if necessary.
What we are looking for
What We Are Looking For
1. A polytechnic diploma in civil/structural engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, architecture, facilities management or law is advantageous.
2. Alternatively, candidates without a diploma should possess at least 3 years of experience in enforcement related work.
3. Interest in Singapore’s built heritage/conserved buildings is preferred.
4. Good analytical, writing, presentation (including generation of pictorial and written reports) and communication skills.
5. Good investigation skills, has an eye for detail, and is self-driven.
6. Ability to work independently indoors and outdoors, as well as in a team.
7. When necessary, work beyond normal officer hours due to work exigencies.
8. Being proficient in one of our official languages (other than English) is advantageous.
The successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance, with continuation subject to further assessments and considerations.
