What the role is

Assists Assistant Directors (Youth & Sports) in the efficient and effective management of the Division which includes:

- Serving as a catalyst in the promotion and development of youth and community sports programmes, and building its expertise in the area of youth and community sports development and engagement.

- Facilitating the development of the local Youth Networks (YNs) so as to enable them to effectively reach out and bond youth and residents.

- Strengthening the network and capabilities of the youth community.

What you will be working on

  • Assists in the promotion and participation of the youth programmes at national and international levels.

  • Explains government policies, facilitates discussion and channels feedback to appropriate parties to develop and strengthen the as effective communication channel between the government and the youths / members.

  • Provides administrative support to the PAYM Council to facilitate effective implementation of their activities and works closely with District co-ordinators in maintaining strong links with the YNs.

  • Works closely with the Group Constituency Directors on the facilitation of YNs’ projects at the GRC-level, District-level and national-level.

  • Acts as an information hub to provide guidance, resources and services for youth related matters.

  • Builds strategic partnerships, enhance and promote linkages between the Division and educational institutions, network partners, foreign youth organisations, and other youth organisations and corporations etc.

  • Enhances the image and awareness of the YNs through PA website, newsletter, monthly e-newsletter, other publicity materials, mass media and other marketing efforts.

  • Conceptualises, designs and creates content for PAYM’s social media and digital engagement publicity materials such as EDMs, FB/IG posts, poster etc.

  • Works together with the team (including staff and council) on PAYM communications and branding strategy for programmes and campaigns etc and assists in the maintenance of the social media accounts

  • Explains government policies, facilitates discussion and channels feedback to appropriate parties to develop and strengthen the Youth Networks (YNs)/ partnerships as effective communication channel between the government and the youths / members.

  • Establishes and enhances the communication framework between the Division and the YNs.

  • Coordinates the recruitment of youth leaders / members to ensure a high-level of involvement and minority-group participation.

  • Works closely with the team to design and implement new youth engagement approaches that drive transformation

What we are looking for

Other ad-hoc duties not covered under main responsibilities and duties.

  • Represents the PA in external organisations in the promotion of youth and community sports development.

  • Represents the Youth & Sports Division in cross-PA division projects and committees.

  • Performs other duties assigned by senior officers.
