You will be doing copyediting, proofing, writing, scriptwriting, interviewing and research to help the Publications department in its various editorial products such as BiblioAsia (magazine), BiblioAsia Reels (video), Chapters on Asia (research papers). These different products mainly deal with aspects of Singapore's history. Your job will be helping to make these stories accessible to today's readers and viewers as an Editorial Intern under the National Library.

What you will be working on

  • Copyedit and proofread content for BiblioAsia and others, ensuring our stories shine
  • Research, interview and write compelling stories for BiblioAsia that uncover Singapore's hidden gems and untold stories
  • Create catchy social media content for Instagram and Facebook to showcase our articles to younger audiences
  • Write engaging summaries and bite-sized pieces that make history come alive for readers
  • Help organise and categorise our growing collection of articles by themes and topics

What we are looking for

  • Open to students from all disciplines; students with a background in English, journalism, history, sociology, political science, marketing are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong writing and editing abilities
  • Research skills and interest in historical topics
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
