What you will be working on
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on supporting lower-income families whilst developing expertise in social assistance programme delivery. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for processing Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA) applications and providing administrative support that assists lower-income and vulnerable families. This role involves assessing eligibility, recommending appropriate subsidies, and managing stakeholder relationships to ensure effective delivery of SCFA.
Apart from administering SCFA, the candidate will be involved in organisational and corporate support functions. The role requires strong numerical skills and the ability to conduct data analysis and statistical work. For example, the successful candidate will need to ensure that data on the cases managed are accurate and perform analytical tasks to support programme effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Process SCFA applications from Student Care Centres. Assess applications against scheme eligibility criteria to determine qualification for SCFA and recommend appropriate subsidies and assistance duration.
• Manage appeals from parents, student care centre operators, social workers, and other relevant parties who do not qualify for assistance or for higher subsidies.
• Process refunds for overpayments where required
• You will be using systems to process applications efficiently whilst maintaining familiarity with scheme eligibility criteria and Standard Operating Procedures. This includes ensuring that applications received are complete and to liaise with stakeholders if more information is required.
• Provide administrative support to the team and undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and service delivery standards
What we are looking for
• Relevant qualifications preferably in Social Work, Sociology or related degrees and relevant working experience would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and assessment skills to evaluate applications against eligibility criteria
• Ability to manage high-volume workloads whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• IT savvy and proficient in Microsoft excel
• Demonstrates adaptability in learning and operating various systems to meet work requirements
• Able to work both independently and be a team player
• Be diligent, pro-active, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Experience data analysis and statistics will be advantageous
