1. User testing and development of translation technology products
• Support the testing and development of the SG Translate (SGT) MT engine, SG Translate Together (SGTT) web portal, and the Government Terms Translated (GTT) repository
• Perform user testing for the department’s translation management tools as part of regular system maintenance
• Explore ways to enhance the performance and functionality of the department’s translation search tool
• Leverage technology and automation tools to maintain and update the department’s translation terminology and memory database
2. Research on new and emerging translation technologies
• Support the department’s research on and experimentation with new translation technologies and digital solutions that can improve translation efficiency and quality
3. Translate communications materials and explore technology integration in translation workflows
• Gain exposure in translation of Whole-of-Government communication materials
• Analyse translation workflows and challenges to identify areas for technological improvement
4. Any other duties related to departmental needs, including administrative, translation or project support tasks

What we are looking for

•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data connectivity and transformation tools like Power Query
•Good project management skills
•Basic programming skills in Python
•Understanding of search methods and algorithms is a plus
•Good language and/or translation skills in English and Chinese/Malay/Tamil is a plus
