The Community Engagement & Planning Department (CEPD) is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is passionate about the environment and enjoy working closely with the community to develop and implement outreach programmes on environmental and sustainability topics.
What you will be working on
- Develop, implement and sustain community outreach programmes on environmental topics.
- Establish good rapport with 3P (People, Public and Private) partners to inculcate pro-environmental values and mobilise community actions.
- Manage/support events jointly organised with the 3P sectors such as Grassroots Organisations/schools by setting up educational booth at community events and/or conducting e-outreach at digital events. Activities may include conducting physical/online talk and quizzes/ manning of games at booths and are usually held on weekends.
- Train and manage partners’ volunteers for localised outreach events such as dengue prevention house visits, litter picking events, recycling drives etc.
- Manage 3P Partnerships Fund for community outreach projects within the district.
- Attend partners’ meetings (e.g. monthly meetings and other event/ project meetings with community groups) during weekday’s nights/weekends when required.
What we are looking for

- Able to work flexible hours and perform duties on weekday nights, weekends or public holidays when the need arises.
- A passion for working with the community.
- Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills and able to work independently as well as a team player.
- An aptitude for public engagement.
- Resourcefulness and good analytical reasoning and data synthesis skills.
- Physical stamina to conduct door to door house visits and stand for extended periods while organising physical events and manning exhibition booths.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
