What you will be working on
What the role is
As part of the IT Information Security team, the Security Operations Manager will lead IT security operations, support cyber and data security programmes to protect the organisation's systems, business applications and data against cyber threats.
Key Focus Areas:
IT Security Operations: Oversee daily operations, incident response, security testing, vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, awareness programmes, and project initiatives to protect organisational datasets and enhance security posture
Cyber and Data Security: Support the assessment, implementation and operations of cyber and data security programmes and initiatives
What You Will Be Working On
Manage security operations activities and leverage existing and emerging methods to detect security intrusions or violations
Support cyber and data security programmes from assessment through to implementation and ongoing operations
Conduct comprehensive incident response activities including detection, reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of mitigation and prevention processes
Lead the assessment and support the mitigation of security vulnerabilities across systems and technologies supporting business initiatives
Support IT-related audit and compliance assessments and provide strategic recommendations to remediate identified issues
Support the cybersecurity risk mitigation progress and effectiveness
Stay current with latest cybersecurity developments and practices, implementing relevant improvements within the organisation
Manage procurement, contract negotiations and budget planning for security tools and services
What we are looking for
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in information security
Proven experience implementing, managing, and supporting cybersecurity tools across multiple domains including but not limiting to: endpoint and Extended Detection & Response and Threat Hunting (EDR, XDR), Infrastructure, Application and Data Protection (ASM, WAF, DLP), Cloud Security (Azure & AWS native security tools), Security Operations (SIEM), Security Assessment & Vulnerability Management (VAPT, SCR, Bug Bounty), Access Control (IAM)
Understanding of on-premises, commercial cloud environments (AWS, Azure) with their native security tools, and DevSecOps practices including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and container scanning within GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Experience managing full-cycle cyber and data incident response, security projects, testing, and awareness programmes
Experience in IT audit support, risk assessments and developing mitigation controls with comprehensive documentation

Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, CEH or GIAC
Demonstrate procurement, contract management and budgeting experience
Experience in government or highly regulated environments
Experience developing, reviewing, and maintaining IT security policies, standards, procedures and playbooks
