What the role is

You will be responsible for accelerating AI adoption and implementing AI solutions across IRAS, while instituting AI governance and technical guardrails that keep pace with AI innovation to ensure safe, trusted, and responsible use of AI in the organisation. You will work with stakeholders and partners to implement transformative AI initiatives that enhance IRAS workforce’s AI fluency and adoption, develop meaningful AI use cases and solutions to support staff’s and organisation’s performances, and provide technical governance support to uplift staff AI capability.

What you will be working on

AI Acceleration and Enablement

  • Conduct in-depth research and evaluation of emerging AI tools and technologies (including low-code/no-code platforms) that can accelerate AI adoption in IRAS, ensuring a robust technical understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
  • Drive engagement strategies to spur meaningful adoption of AI tools and solutions in IRAS, and to deepen staff’s AI expertise
  • Collaborate with business divisions to identify high-impact AI use cases that can significantly transform business processes and improve work productivity.
  • Rapidly prototype AI use-cases and solutions, and transition successful pilots into production

AI Solutioning and Development

  • Work with business division to develop AI use-cases and solutions, and embed them into day-to-day operations.
  • Develop reusable AI tasks, components, templates, and tooling to speed up AI solution delivery across teams
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders and IT to deploy relevant AI solutions/technologies with proper governance controls

AI Capability Development

  • Build AI communities through learning programmes and knowledge-sharing platforms
  • Identify external partnerships to facilitate AI capability development within IRAS and across whole-of-government
  • Design and support the delivery of technical training programmes, including low-code/no-code application development workshops

AI Governance and Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain an AI Ethics & Governance Framework, covering policies and best practices such as governance-as-code practices for automated policy enforcement and risk monitoring, to drive responsible and ethical AI usage
  • Establish and maintain an AI Risk Assessment Framework to proactively track and monitor AI risks, and develop mitigation strategies aligned with WOG policies
  • Drive regulatory compliance on acceptable and responsible use of AI

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent technical fields
  • Strong software engineering background and programming skills (Python, Powershell, Java, or equivalent)  
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions
  • Familiarity with Cloud Platforms (Azure, Google or AWS), modern AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex or equivalent) and integration with leading LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Llama, Gemini)
  • Experience with enterprise process automation, low-code/no-code platforms and AI technologies
  • Good understanding of responsible AI, data governance, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with governance-as-code, cloud platforms, and API development has an advantage
  • Programme management and change management experience
  • Strong stakeholder management and technical communication skills
