About Venture Building (New Ventures)

EDB New Ventures is the venture building arm of EDB. Our aim is to support the creation and scaling of high potential new ventures from Singapore to become globally leading businesses. To do so, we supporting companies in their corporate venturing journey, experienced founders in building new ventures, and growth stage ventures to land their presence in Singapore. This includes embarking on joint venture building sprints alongside partner corporates / global founders, co-investment to risk-share early-stage growth of high potential ventures and active portfolio value creation support to scale each venture. We are also building founder platforms that foster greater exchanges between founders and accelerate growth of high potential ventures.

We are looking for a Manager to join our New Ventures team to support the strategy and execution for our venturing efforts. This role includes community engagement and management, partnerships and relationship management. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple teams in EDB, to translate our work into business outcomes. Our community of founders and ventures is highly international and cuts across a diverse range of sectors, such as AI, deep tech, health care.

What you will be working on

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for managing our community of founders and top executives, creating events and initiatives to increase and sustain their engagement within the community and with the broader Singapore ecosystem. This multi-faceted role requires adaptability in managing various internal and external stakeholders and partners and operational excellence to deliver high quality events and programmes for discerning individuals.

Some of your tasks include, but are not limited to:

Community engagement

Conceptualise, plan and execute events, to encourage member engagement within the community and to support members to make high-value connections throughout our networks.
Onboard members and maintain members database to record founder and venture information and track community engagement metrics
Lead community communications and conduct member surveys to support relationship managers in better understanding founder needs and venture performance.
Track and analyse event and partnership performance, providing insights to optimise future initiatives
Proficiency with design software (e.g. Adobe, Canva), event management tools (e.g. Luma) and email marketing tools (e.g. HubSpot) will be a plus

Partnerships and programmes

Work with partners to offer exclusive access and high-value networks and benefits to community members to enable them to grow their ventures
Develop visit programmes to allow founders and executives to experience Singapore and explore business opportunities

Business Development

Support relationship managers to attract and support international founders to build ventures in Singapore. This includes:
Conducting in-depth research on founder backgrounds and industries
Support in the development and tailoring of founder engagement initiatives

What we are looking for

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have:

Minimum 4 years of experience in a related role for business development and/or relationship management and/or marketing and/or community management, preferably from a Venture Capital firm, startup or accelerator
Excellent track record in at least 1of the following:
- B2B marketing, partnerships or event management
- B2B sales, account management or business development
A strong interest and passion for venture growth, marketing, community engagement, and ecosystem building
Possess the following attributes and skillsets:
- Resourceful with a self-starter mindset and positive work attitude
- Adaptable and be a strong team player in an agile environment
- Confidence in engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational, project management and analytical skills
- Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong writing skills and experience in crafting clear and compelling content
- Conversational business Mandarin would be a plus
