What the role is

• To manage the zakat disbursement and financial assistance operations of the Mosque District level
• To oversee social development functions at the Social Development (SD) Mosques within the District
•To manage and supervise the District officers staff associated with SD activities
• To guide Social Development Officers (SDOs) based at the SD Mosques

What you will be working on

Your primary role is to manage the disbursement of zakat financial assistance (FA) and implementation of Social Development (SD) policies and programmes at the Mosque District office. You will work closely with Muis HQ (ZakatSD@One mosque sector) on the development and implementation of SD policies and initiatives, while working in partnership with the Social Development mosques within the District that the frontline zakat FA services.

Areas of responsibilities include:

  • Manage zakat disbursement and financial assistance operations at the Mosque District level to ensure timely payout of assistance and compliance to governance/audit requirements

  • Provide guidance and supervision of Social Development functions and staff at the District level in collaboration with the SD mosques

  • Program management (includes tasks such as designing programmes, organisations, marketing and publicity, implementation, ensuring participation of SD initiatives) at the District level. One of the goals include to encourage participation of vulnerable and low-income families in general Islamic Learning (IL) programmes at mosques

  • Network with relevant organisations and social service agencies (SSAs) to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable and low-income families

  • Assist DN Team in the execution and preparation of other events and activities

What we are looking for

  • Possess a tertiary education in any field

  • Have at least 3 years of working experience in the social service sector

  • Keen interest in Social & Community Development work and passionate to work with vulnerable groups and their family members

  • Possess creativity and project management skills in planning, implementing, and evaluating social initiatives

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Possess leadership qualities and able to work independently and as a team

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
