We are seeking a Manager/Librarian to support the development and implementation of kidsREAD, a nationwide reading programme that promotes the love of reading among children aged 4-8 years old from low-income families. This role focuses on leading the strategic development of the kidsREAD curriculum, managing the kidsREAD@Home initiative, building community partnerships and collaborations to expand programme reach, and overseeing volunteer management and training.

What you will be working on

kidsREAD Programme Development

  • Develop and review the kidsREAD programme through programme evaluation and data analysis to enhance programme effectiveness.
  • Lead the comprehensive development of the kidsREAD curriculum, including the curation of books and development of engaging reading activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and procure necessary services and materials to support effective delivery of the kidsREAD programme.

Community Partnership & Collaboration 

  • Build and nurture relationships with community organisations to expand programme reach and impact.
  • Develop events and platforms that enable effective partnership and resource sharing amongst community reading programme partners. 

kidsREAD@Home Implementation & Management

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of kidsREAD@Home. 
  • Monitor programme effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to enhance programme delivery. 
  • Build rapport and strong relationships with kidsREAD@Home club coordinators, conduct site visits and provide feedback on club management to help improve the running of the kidsREAD@Home clubs.

Volunteer Management & Development

  • Oversee volunteer database management and maintain accurate records of volunteer participation.
  • Develop volunteer competency through creation and delivery of relevant, effective training content.

What we are looking for

  • At least one to two years of relevant experience in programme management, community/stakeholders engagement and outreach/partnerships
  • A passion for understanding and helping lower income families, and volunteering experience with lower income families/children would be an advantage
  • Working experience as an educator (preschool or primary level) or curriculum design would be an advantage
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for promoting reading
  • Good analytical, written and verbal communications skills
  • Required to work on some weekends and weekday night

Successful applicant will be appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance.
