What the role is

This is a 2-year contract position as a Student Counsellor in the Student & Alumni Services Office.

What you will be working on

As a Student Counsellor, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

1. Counselling & Case Management

  • Provide individual and group counselling to students facing emotional, behavioural, social, or personal difficulties

  • Handle counselling cases, manage crisis, and apply appropriate professional interventions.

  • Conduct triage, assessment, and referral for students who require specialised support (eg. external agencies).

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of counselling sessions in accordance with established protocols and data‑management standards

2. Mental Health & Well-being Support

  • Build and strengthen the campus mental‑health support ecosystem.

  • Implement early detection and prevention programmes for mental health concerns.

  • Support pastoral care functions, including advocacy and early intervention.

3. Programme Development & Outreach

  • Develop, plan, and implement campus‑wide psychological, outreach, and wellness programmes.

  • Organise and manage pastoral care or mental health-related workshops and projects.

  • Promote awareness on student well-being education.

  • Undertake administrative duties related to strengthening the care and support network for students.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with schools, staff, parents, and external agencies (e.g., MOE, community partners).

  • Partner with Class advisors, Student Care teams, and other internal stakeholders on student support matters.

  • Provide consultation and guidance to staff on supporting students with needs.

What we are looking for

  • Masters in Counselling

  • Minimum: 3 years of experience

  • Counselling background in educational institutes would be advantageous
