What the role is

The Assistant Director, Talent Management will be responsible for advancing the organisation’s talent management and succession planning capabilities, partnering senior leaders to strengthen leadership continuity and future-ready talent pipelines.

This role requires a senior practitioner who can design, implement, and embed talent identification, succession planning, and structured development approaches, with a strong emphasis on execution, judgement, and stakeholder influence.

What you will be working on

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead organisation-wide talent management and succession planning processes for critical roles. 

  • Design and implement talent identification and differentiation frameworks aligned to business and leadership needs. 

  • Partner senior leaders to assess bench strength, readiness, and succession risks, translating insights into clear development actions. 

  • Design and operationalise structured development pathways, including job rotations and stretch assignments. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing talent ownership and decision-making. 

  • Provide strategic input to leadership on talent risks, leadership gaps, and pipeline sustainability, using data and structured talent insights to inform workforce and succession decisions. 

What we are looking for

Key Requirements 

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with deep expertise in Talent Management and/or Succession Planning. 

  • Strong track record in designing and implementing organisation-wide talent initiatives. 

  • Proven ability to influence and partner senior leaders and executives. 

  • Sound judgement, comfort with ambiguity, and a strong execution mindset.

  • Structured, pragmatic, and outcome-focused. 

  • Comfortable owning complex talent conversations with leadership.
