What the role is

The incumbent's roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

What you will be working on

Payables/Payroll • Manages and maintains the payables and payroll of the Board to ensure timely and accurate payments/disbursements in accordance with Board’s policies and procedures, accounting standards and regulatory requirements • Provides guidance to departments regarding payment methods, required documents for payments, tax matters related to payments • Provides accurate and effective document preparation and historical records management relative to the AP and Payroll function in accordance with records retention policies and procedures • Resolves vendor and invoice issues • Monitors aging reports • Performs reconciliations • Performs month-end and year-end accounts closing tasks related to AP and Payroll • Monitors changes to accounting standards as well as government policies and guidelines related to AP and Payroll processes and systems and implements changes accordingly • Provides advisory and educates others in areas of changes / updates to the AP and Payroll processes and systems • Extracts and analyses data, prepare reports and accounting schedules for management, government agencies and etc. • Prepares and provides supporting documentation for audits • Maintain the AP and Payroll systems, propose and implement new procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness Assets • Oversee the assets operations, which includes month-end and year-end accounts closing activities, financial reporting, and managing the financial aspects of asset capitalisation, valuation, depreciation, and disposal • Ensure compliance with policies and accounting standards in relation asset management

What we are looking for

• Degree in Accountancy or related discipline • Knowledge of GST and withholding tax matters. Regulatory requirements and accounting standards related to asset management is preferred • Proficient in Microsoft packages (especially Excel and Powerpoint) • Experience with reporting and dashboard softwares • Good analytical skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Hands-on attitude • Proactive approach • Team player • This is a contract position until Dec 2027
