Lecturer (Diploma in Social Sciences in Gerontology)
What the role is
What you will be working on
Conduct daytime and evening classes to full-time students and part-time adult learners on ageing-related issues, equipping them with knowledge and skills to provide quality services to older adults
Develop interactive lesson materials (for online, face-to-face and hybrid learning) on topics such as case management, programme planning, and community development, and design appropriate assessments
Supervise students for internships and student projects
Provide pastoral care to students
Lead or contribute to staff consultancy and research projects with industry
Network with industry to enhance curriculum and create value-adding partnerships
Assume additional duties as necessary (e.g. committee work, outreach events)
What we are looking for
Tertiary qualifications in Gerontology, Public Health, Allied Health or related field
Minimum 3 years work experience in hospital and/or community care settings, particularly in allied health and/or clinical care with older adults
Some experience in teaching, project management and/or social media marketing is highly preferred
Passionate about facilitating learning for learners of all ages
Strong networks in healthcare and social service sectors
Proactive and keen to collaborate with colleagues within and across disciplines on innovation projects
Excellent time management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment
