What the role is

Lead strategic research and programme evaluation to drive MUIS's policy development, organisational strategy and future’s capability through comprehensive evidence-based analysis, strategic partnerships and social research methodologies

What you will be working on

  • Lead horizon scanning and strategic foresight initiatives to identify emerging socio-religious trends, conducting comprehensive analysis to inform MUIS's strategy, policy development and community engagement.

  • Drive knowledge management on research findings to enable accessibility, drive insights and monitor evaluation outcomes for executive decision-making.

  • Develop a comprehensive research and evaluation toolkit incorporating proven methodologies, impact measurement frameworks and analytical best practices to strengthen organisational strategic capabilities.

  • Oversee end-to-end management of strategic research and evaluation projects – including vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement, impact assessment – and ensuring deliverables align with strategic organisational objectives.

  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships with internal teams, external research institutions, national agencies and community stakeholders, to advance MUIS's research agenda and enhance policy influence and community awareness.

  • Prepare executive-level strategic briefings, impact reports and presentations that effectively communicate research findings, evaluation outcomes and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary education in Public Policy, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or related fields, with 2-5 years experience in strategy, research, policy analysis or programme evaluation roles.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research and analytical capabilities with proven ability to synthesise complex information into clear strategic insights, policy recommendations and impact assessments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare quality reports, engage stakeholders, and support strategic discussions across diverse audiences.

  • Good project management skills with good proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (including Words, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Experience with research tools, evaluation frameworks, futures methodologies and data visualisation platforms is highly advantageous.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, able to work independently and collaboratively, with a deep interest in and motivation for advancing understanding in socio-religious affairs.

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
