What the role is

The Analytical Scientist will be involved in laboratory activities, research and development and support the quality assurance activities as required or assigned.

What you will be working on

Technical Duties:
(a) To provide quality examination and reporting of routine/non-routine samples and seizure exhibits in a timely manner.
(b) To provide guidance and advice to laboratory officers on standard and investigative cases, ensuring cases meet turn-around-time (TAT)
(c) To support assigned research and development projects, and carry out method optimisation and validation studies.
(d) To review and improve testing procedures, quality control measures, and work processes to optimize throughput whilst maintaining analytical integrity.
(e) To provide expert testimony in court.


Quality Assurance Duties:
(a) Support QA programme required for the testing of samples
(b) Support the maintenance, calibration and qualification of instruments and equipment
(c) Record keeping for key quality activities
(d) Prepare SOPs and Lab Manuals

What we are looking for

Background in Chemistry or related field.


Basic Laboratory experience.

• Able to work independently, as well as in a team

• Has leadership attributes

• Must be meticulous and have good organization skills

• Able to work effectively with people from different backgrounds

• Highly motivated with strong desire to protect public health and safety

• Knowledge in Python programming and scripting languages would be advantageous
