Intern, IT Infrastructure (Systems & Service Management)

ISEAS -Yusof Ishak Institute
As an IT Infrastructure Intern, you will gain comprehensive industry exposure to the technical backbone of a leading research institute. This role is designed as a mentorship-driven learning journey where you will develop professional IT Service Management (ITSM) skills. Under the guidance of the infrastructure team, you will learn to navigate complex technical ecosystems and bridge the gap between user needs and innovative technical solutions.
End-User Experience & Troubleshooting: Gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving diverse IT incidents for staff and researchers. You will focus on the "why" behind technical solutions to improve overall system reliability.
Workflow Digitization & Automation: Take a lead role in automating internal IT request forms. You are encouraged to research and propose new tools or creative workflows that enhance the Institute’s operational efficiency.
Systems & Infrastructure Exposure: Participate in the maintenance and configuration of enterprise computing resources—including notebooks, servers, and network devices—to understand the full IT asset lifecycle.
Governance Support: Assist the team in maintaining IT policies and security standards (in compliance with IM8), ensuring a secure and efficient digital environment.
Requirements

Technical Proficiency: Familarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Outlook, Excel, Word) and basic hardware/software troubleshooting.
