What you will be working on
Co-led by Sport Singapore and Singapore Sports School (SSP), you will be part of a journey to support the vision for the next bound to build new capabilities for high performance sport and better integrate our programmes/policies to strengthen support for youth to senior athletes, and youth-to-senior transition.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven performance strategies through the assessment and analysis of athletes’ physiological profiles. You will translate complex physiological data into clear, actionable insights to support coaches and athletes in optimising training, recovery, and competition performance.
• Physiological Assessment
Conduct comprehensive physiological testing to evaluate athletes’ strengths and limitations across metabolic, cardiovascular, neuromuscular, and anthropometric domains.
• Training Prescription and Monitoring
Design, prescribe, and monitor individualised training programs based on physiological assessments and the energetic demands of each sport, ensuring optimal adaptation and performance outcomes.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation
Analyse physiological and performance data to deliver evidence-based recommendations that inform training load management, recovery strategies, and performance enhancement.
• Ergogenic Aids and Recovery Strategies
Provide informed guidance on the appropriate use of ergogenic aids and recovery interventions to minimise fatigue and maximise training effectiveness.
• Athlete Education
Educate and empower athletes to make informed decisions regarding their training, recovery, and performance preparation.
• Research and Innovation
Stay current with advances in sport science research and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative performance support practices.
• Collaboration
Work closely with coaches and multidisciplinary sport science and sport medicine teams to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to athlete development.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
• Background in Exercise Science, Sport Physiology, or a related field
• Strong theoretical foundation in exercise physiology, performance testing, and training adaptation within high-performance sport environments
• Proficiency in conducting and interpreting physical and physiological tests, including V̇O₂max, lactate threshold, beep test, and Yo-Yo testing
• Experience in test protocol standardisation, data quality control, and reliability analysis to support accurate longitudinal monitoring
• Ability to analyse physiological and performance data using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression modelling
• Familiarity with Athlete Management Systems (AMS) and integration of laboratory, field-based, and wearable data sources
• Strong ability to identify physiological limiting factors and link analytical findings to practical training and performance recommendations
