What the role is
What you will be working on
Co-led by Sport Singapore and Singapore Sports School (SSP), you will be part of a journey to support the vision for the next bound to build new capabilities for high performance sport and better integrate our programmes/policies to strengthen support for youth to senior athletes, and youth-to-senior transition.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven performance strategies through the assessment and analysis of athletes’ movement and biomechanical characteristics. You will translate biomechanical data into clear, actionable insights to support coaches and athletes in optimising skill execution, training efficiency, performance outcomes, and injury risk reduction.
Biomechanical Assessment
• Conduct comprehensive biomechanical assessments to evaluate athletes’ movement strategies, technical execution, and mechanical efficiency across sports.
• Apply laboratory and field-based testing methods to quantify kinematics, kinetics, and spatiotemporal parameters relevant to performance and injury risk.
Performance Analysis and Intervention Support
• Analyse biomechanical data to identify technical strengths, limitations, and movement inefficiencies that influence performance outcomes.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations to inform skill acquisition, technique modification, equipment optimisation, and training interventions.
• Undertake sport trainer duties, including hands-on training delivery and on-field performance support, alongside core sport biomechanics responsibilities.
• Support coaches and athletes in translating biomechanical findings into practical and sport-specific performance improvements.
Data Analysis and Interpretation
• Process and analyse biomechanical datasets derived from motion capture systems, force platforms, wearable sensors, and video-based technologies.
• Apply appropriate analytical techniques to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and meaningful longitudinal comparison.
• Interpret biomechanical outputs within the context of training load, fatigue, and competition demands.
Technology and Innovation
• Support the application of emerging technologies in sport biomechanics, including wearable sensors, computer vision, and advanced motion analysis tools.
• Contribute to research and development initiatives focused on improving performance diagnostics, monitoring capabilities, and applied service delivery.
• Stay current with advancements in biomechanics research and share knowledge with the wider sport science team.
Athlete and Coach Education
• Educate athletes and coaches on key biomechanical principles related to movement efficiency, skill execution, and injury risk management.
• Communicate complex biomechanical concepts in a clear, accessible, and practical manner to support informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
• Background in Sport Biomechanics, Sport/Exercise Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong theoretical foundation in human movement analysis, mechanical principles, and applied sport biomechanics.
• Proficiency in conducting and interpreting biomechanical assessments using motion capture systems, force platforms, high-speed video, and wearable sensor technologies.
• Experience in test protocol standardisation, data quality control, and reliability analysis to support accurate longitudinal monitoring.
• Experience using programming or analytical tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python, PowerBI) to process, analyse, and visualise biomechanical datasets.
• Ability to evaluate intervention effectiveness and monitor performance changes over time using evidence-based approaches.
• Ability to link biomechanical findings to performance and injury-risk-reduction strategies.
• Capacity to contextualise biomechanical data within the technical, tactical, and physical demands of high-performance sport.
Only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
The level of offer will commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records.
