What the role is

The Professional Development and Standards (PDS) Division in ECDA develops Early Childhood (EC) and Early Intervention (EI) professionals and supports preschools to deliver holistic and inclusive care and education through setting quality standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. The Professional Standards and Training (PST) Branch within PDS drives the strategic thrust on developing early childhood professionals effectively. The scope of the PST Branch encompasses: • Setting standards for EC professional qualification programmes and work with training providers to ensure quality of programmes; • Certifying EC educators to ensure that they meet the relevant professional requirements to work in the sector; • Working with training partners to support developing skills and competencies of EC and EI professionals through CPD courses; • Develop, implement and administer manpower programmes for the early childhood professionals to attract, develop and retain them • Supporting leadership development for the EC sector

What you will be working on

As a member of the PST team, you will: • develop and review ops-polices and plans related professional development (PD) and training to strengthen EC and EI educators’ competencies, as well as manpower programmes to meet specific objectives • administer schemes, programmes that supports workforce development for the EC and EI sectors • collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on projects, initiatives or programmes to train, develop or retain early childhood professionals Your job scope will entail working closely with stakeholders, harnessing data for insights and decision making, developing and reviewing business processes to leverage systems and technology, managing budget, secretariat duties and any other duties assigned.

What we are looking for

• Experience in a related discipline, preferably in Social Sciences, Mass Communications, Business Administration or equivalent, with at least 1-2 years of relevant working experience. • Experience with workforce development, education field or early childhood/early intervention is an advantage • Resourceful and self-motivated team player with well-rounded interpersonal skills to work across teams and with diverse stakeholders (public and private sector) • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with ability to manage multiple projects with tight timelines • Strong analytical abilities, with good written and presentation skills • Systematic and attentive to details • Good data analytics and Microsoft Excel proficiency
