[LTA-TRO] SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, TRAFFIC & ROAD IT
What the role is
What you will be working on
Working in a team, you will be responsible for leading the development of cloud-based software solutions with a focus on AI-driven applications and agile delivery methodologies. You will combine hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight of development initiatives and thus requiring expertise in modern cloud technologies, AI integration, and proven ability to guide agile development teams. You will design and develop scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-based applications, fostering best practices in software development and DevOps. Beyond these, you will also implement coding and cybersecurity best practices as well as collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and architecture strategies.
Your work will involve project management, system software implementation and maintenance activities including to conduct technical feasibility study, project planning, tender and design review, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and documentation of the system operation and maintenance manuals.
You will also be involved in leading the collaboration with both internal and external parties in establishing system requirements and performance specifications, and handling user and/or public queries pertaining to systems under your charge as part of the project and maintenance management work scope.
What we are looking for
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in software development, AI/ML solutions, process design thinking and project management.
Proficiency with software development methodologies including Agile and DevOps practices as well as CI/CD pipelines tools (GitLab CI, Github workflows, Jenkins), Containerisation Technologies and Microservices Architecture (eg. Docker, Kubernetes), Low-Code Platforms (eg. OutSystems, Pega, Microsoft Power Platform), and mastery of full-stack development including Frontend, Backend and Databases is mandatory.
Working knowledge in Agile Project Management Tools (eg. Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello), Cloud Computing Platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and ability to interpret and apply Government ICT Policies and Information Security Management Standards (IM8) Compliance will be advantageous.
Good written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work in an agile development environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
Possess initiative, resourcefulness as well as a keen interest in problem-solving.
Have strong sense of responsibility and analytical mind.
