What you will be working on
As a Corrupt Practices Investigation Officer (CPIO), you will be part of a dynamic team of officers dedicated to the mission of combating corruption offences. You can look forward to a meaningful career investigating corruption in both the public and private sectors. You will assist in criminal legal proceedings arising from CPIB's investigations.
CPIB will provide you with the opportunity to realise your potential through a wide spectrum of job functions, including investigations, intelligence, digital forensic, data analytics and leadership roles etc. You may also be given exposure to other areas of work such as international affairs, policy formulation and public education.
You will start your journey with our CPIO training programme. This training, which comprises a hybrid of residential and non-residential components, will equip you with the relevant knowledge and skills to perform your duties.
The programme starts with 9-month residential training at the Home Team Academy (HTA) to prepare you for your role at the Bureau. You will undergo a well-structured curriculum to learn the criminal laws, investigation techniques, self-defence tactics and weapons handling. The training also includes an overseas leadership training programme and a Class 3 driving course.
Following the HTA training, you will undertake 2-3 months of specialised non-residential in-house training focused on corruption and financial investigation, application of the relevant laws, complaint management, scene management, evidence handling, interview and interrogation, testimony provision in Court etc.
There will be a 2-year bond after the training.
