What the role is

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment.

We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment

What you will be working on

  • Lead and manage strategic projects and initiatives related to enhancement of observational networks, site investigations, seismic hazard and risk assessments, and technical studies.

  • Develop and review policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of the built environment sector.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, professional bodies, and acadmemia, to foster collaboration and achieve common objectives.

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the building and construction industry.

  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management and relevant committees.

  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure successful project delivery.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering discipline, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an advantage.

  • Relevant understanding and experience in Singapore’s geology, site investigation works, seismic and geodetic monitoring, and seismic hazard and risk assessment will be an advantage.

  • Demonstrate an interest in the subject matter and the ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong command of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
