What the role is

To assist in the formation and development of Community Development Council in the CDC district, thereby promoting social cohesion, community bonding and racial harmony. The job will include networking with various partners for collaboration purpose.

To develop, implement, and scale-up Healthy Living programmes that promote community wellbeing and foster community ownership to build a Caring and Healthy North West community.

What you will be working on

Key duties and responsibilities that need to be performed to meet the primary objective of the job.  This will include the important result areas (what) along with the rationale (why).

  • Assists Senior Manager in formulating, implementing and reviewing plans for the development of Healthy Living programmes in CDC to achieve community goals.

  • Provides administrative/logistical support and guidance to the Council Members and project joint partners in conceptualising, planning, and executing Healthy Living programmes that address community needs.

  • Acts as a catalyst to encourage and assist Council Members and co-opted members in the standing committees to plan and implement community projects.

  • Works closely with the Council Members to monitor and coordinate activities.

  • Coordinates and develops joint projects with corporate, schools, government bodies and non-government organisations.

  • Manage volunteers, which include recruitment, training, appreciation, etc.

  • Submits necessary reports on the Standing Committees, provides feedback, and recommends changes and improvements to the Council, thereby facilitating communication and coordination between the Standing Committees and the Council.

  • Submits necessary reports on the Council to PA Headquarters, thereby facilitating communication and coordination between the Council and PA.

  • Provides administrative and logistical support for projects organised by PA Headquarters. 

  • Provides accurate records of the Council meetings, Standing Committee meetings and District meetings in minutes.

  • Provides administrative support in implementing project grants to the stakeholders. 

What we are looking for

Other ad-hoc duties not covered under main responsibilities and duties.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by General Manager / Deputy General Manager / Assistant Director / Senior Manager.

Knowledge & Skills

  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience with significant extracurricular involvement and or leadership

Others            

  • Knowledge of 2nd language (e.g. Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or dialects)

  • Able to work on weekends

  • Prior experience in volunteer management, grant management and/or secretariat work will be advantageous

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
