What the role is

Science Centre Singapore is dedicated to the promotion of interest, learning and creativity in science & technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and to contribute to the nation's development of its human resource.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join the Digital Synthesis department as an Assistant Robotics Engineer/Robotics Engineer to develop and implement robotics solution for both Science Centre Singapore (SCS) and New Science Centre (NSC).

This role offers a clear growth path from hands-on hardware deployment to core robotics software development. You will work with partners to manage the setup, testing, and maintenance of our exciting fleet of robots while progressively taking on further responsibilities. It is an ideal position for those looking implement real-world application within a core engineering team. You will also assist with Centre-wide events and duties as required.

What you will be working on

As an Assistant Robotics Engineer/Robotics Engineer, you will develop and maintain ROS-based robotics solutions to enhance visitor experiences and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities span the entire deployment lifecycle, from core software development in perception and navigation to hands-on system calibration and automated monitoring, working collaboratively with partners throughout.

What we are looking for

We are seeking candidate with minimum diploma in Engineering, proficient in C++ and ROS2 (or equivalent frameworks). You should be comfortable developing firmware and software, navigating Linux environments, and working hands-on with hardware components such as LiDARs and IMUs. Success in this role requires the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team, whilst managing deployments in live operational environments.

Advantageous qualifications include a GitHub portfolio demonstrating your work, experience with AI or ML technologies, expertise in SLAM and Motion Planning, or familiarity with CI or CD pipelines and simulation environments.

Those with more years of relevant experience may be considered for a Senior Robotics Engineer position.
