What you will be working on
Brief description of Job Scope:
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director, your role is to lead a team of middle managers/ case workers responsible in the triage of enquiries received by PSV to determine the level of intervention and right siting of these enquiries and undertake crisis case management duties such as immediate safety planning and intervention work for high-risk child abuse, domestic violence and vulnerable adults experiencing violence, abuse or neglect. You will be working closely with PSV’s professional partners to ensure an effective protection system for children and young person, domestic violence and vulnerable adult survivors.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Director, you will:
• Supervise a team of Intake and Response middle managers/case workers:
✓ undertaking triage and consultation of enquiries to determine the level of intervention and right sitting of these enquiries such as if it meets the threshold for statutory intervention or it can remain in the community for intervention;
✓ undertaking crisis management to high-risk cases on-site that involve child abuse, domestic violence and vulnerable adults, conduct safety assessment and implement immediate safety planning to ensure their safety, during and after-office hours;
• Oversee strategic planning of Intake and Response operational polices, workflows and protocols with regular reviews to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the team’s functions;
• Identify and engage key professionals to collaborate and build up interface to facilitate a smooth service delivery;
• Lead implementation and review of new initiatives to support for Intake and Response operational needs; and
• Oversee staff development to ensure professional capacity of the team by identifying training needs.
What we are looking for
Requirements:
Technical/ Functional Competencies:
• Educational Background in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline or with at least 6-8 years of experience in working with children, families and vulnerable adults or with crisis management in social service settings; and
• At least 4 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
Generic Competencies:
• Strong writing and presentation skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable in engaging external partners in the community and across Ministries
• Tenacious and nimble in handling difficult clients and/or situations
• Empathetic with high level of emotional resilience and ability to work calmly in stressful situations and environment
• Enjoy teamwork and able to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment
• Competent in building strong teams
