As the Corporate University of the Home Team, the Home Team Academy (HTA) seeks to enable officers’ learning and enhance the Home Team Departments’ training through enhancing leadership development, skills transformation, Continuous Training and Education, and driving Home Team integration. Our training transformation efforts seek to develop well-trained officers who are able to successfully contribute to MHA’s mission of keeping Singapore safe and secure and to support the Home Team in its transformation efforts.
HTA’s Communications and Engagement team develops and drives all strategic plans and initiatives related to HTA’s branding, corporate communications, corporate engagements and protocol matters. As part of our team, you would play a key role inbuilding up HTA’s corporate image, and projecting our organisation as an effective and forward-looking organisation to both internal and external audiences.

What you will be working on
As the key external communications officer, you will get the opportunity to lead, plan and implement public communications plans and campaigns: as well as influence culture-building and engagement activities within HTA. The job scope is as follows:
1. Develop Integrated Comms strategies and plans in support of HTA’s Vision and Mission:
a. Develop the HTA Comms Masterplan, review, monitor and implement the plans
b. Plan and develop campaigns that raise awareness of HTA’s key messages, including working with creative agencies to deliver outcomes
2. Develop comms activities calendar:
a. Manage and develop comms calendar for posting on social media platforms and campaigns
3. Undertake content production and editorial management
a. Manage the production of the HTA Annual Report
b. Oversee the production and publication of the Home Team Journal
4. Plan and organise media events for HTA’s key activities
a. Develop media publicity plan/approach and engagement strategies
b. Development of media materials
c. Draft talking points for interviews with HTA’s senior management and leadership team
5. Support stakeholder engagement plans and events, to galvanise them to achieve HTA’s mission and to enhance the branding of the organisation. These activities include HTA’s annual workplan seminar, international engagements and lectures, HTA’s anniversary event, and advisory panel meeting;
6. Establish a good and strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders, media partners and other Home Team Departments’ communications teams; and
7. Undertake secondary appointments, duties or projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor and Director Centre for Human Capital and Communications.
What we are looking for
The jobholder should preferably possess the following:
a) A good University degree (preferably in Mass Communications, Organisational Development or other related disciplines); relevant working experience in corporate communications would be an advantage;
b) Strong interest in multimedia communications trends;
c) Passion for working with people, with excellent interpersonal and listening skills;
d) Articulate, with strong journalistic writing and presentation skills; and
e) Able to manage projects and timelines concurrently.
