Lead/ Engineer (Prod Infrastructure), Content and Collaboration Platform, xCloud

We are seeking a dynamic and outcome-driven Product Infrastructure Engineer to support our product teams. This individual will drive, implement, deploy, maintain and operate key components of the products, and will help to level up the team’s competency with their valuable past experiences. The Product Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the best possible and impactful solutions for the Home Team.

As part of the Product team, you will be responsible for systems administration of on-premise cloud infrastructure. Your responsibilities include: • Installation and systems administration of on-premise file storage and collaboration applications. • Virtualisation Management in Nutanix: Manage Nutanix AHV virtualisation infrastructure integration for optimal performance and hosting requirements. Implement storage provisioning, capacity planning, and performance optimisation on Nutanix clusters. • Database Management: Administer databases including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery. • Backup and Recovery: Design comprehensive backup and recovery strategies ensuring business continuity and data integrity. • Resource Management: Provision and manage infrastructure resources such as servers, virtual machines, containers, and related services to support development and operations teams. • Product Reliability: Troubleshoot performance, storage, networking, database, and application issues. Support incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive measure implementation. • Stay current with emerging virtualisation, storage and database management technologies

• Operating Systems: Proficient in Linux administration experience with operational Windows Server knowledge for hybrid environments • On-Premise Virtualisation: Hands-on experience with on-premise hypervisor technologies, particularly Nutanix AHV, encompassing cluster deployment, VM operations, and system performance tuning. • Containerization & Orchestration: Experienced in managing production Kubernetes environments, including troubleshooting, scaling, and security implementation • Enterprise Storage: Proven experience with NUS and Pure Storage systems, plus proficiency in storage protocols (S3, NFS, SMB) configuration and troubleshooting. • Database Administration: Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, vector and graph databases • Networking Fundamentals: Solid TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configuration skills • Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in Linux scripting, Python and infrastructure automation and tooling development. • Enterprise Experience: Background working in large software teams or enterprise IT environments. • Experience with NextCloud implementation and operations will be advantageous. All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
