What you will be working on
Co-led by Sport Singapore and Singapore Sports School (SSP), you will be part of a journey to support the vision for the next bound to build new capabilities for high performance sport and better integrate our programmes/policies to strengthen support for youth to senior athletes, and youth-to-senior transition.
You will be responsible for generating data-driven performance insights through the systematic collection, integration, and analysis of performance data. You will translate raw data into meaningful analytical outputs and clear, actionable insights that support sport scientists, coaches, and athletes in daily training environment monitoring, competition preparation, and performance review. The role also contributes to operational efficiency, innovation, and stronger stakeholder engagement through effective use of sport technology and analytics.
(1) Backend Data Platform Management Track
• Design, maintain, and enhance backend data infrastructure to support the collection, storage, integration, and retrieval of sport performance and athlete monitoring data.
• Manage databases, data pipelines, and system architecture to ensure data reliability, integrity, security, and accessibility.
(2) Data Analytics and AI Modelling Track
• Develop, implement, and maintain AI and machine learning models that support performance analysis, athlete monitoring, injury risk identification, and other sport science applications.
• Translate sport performance and operational requirements into analytical workflows, including data preparation, feature engineering, training, validation, and deployment.
(3) AI Application Platform Track
• Support the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of AI-enabled applications for use by sport science and sport medicine scientists.
• Ensure applications are user-centric, functional, and aligned with performance support workflows in both training and competition environments.
(4) Embedded IoT Systems Track
• Support the integration, deployment, and maintenance of embedded and IoT-based systems used for athlete monitoring, performance tracking, and sport technology applications.
• Facilitate data connectivity between sensors, devices, edge systems, and central platforms to ensure seamless data flow and system reliability.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
• Background in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Sport Technology, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related discipline.
• Understanding of high-performance sport environments and the application of technology to athlete performance, monitoring, and operational support is an advantage.
• Familiarity with data governance, system integration, and digital transformation practices is desirable.
• Experience in backend system development, database management, and data pipeline architecture.
• Proficiency in working with relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB).
• Experience in developing, training, validating, and deploying AI or machine learning models.
• Proficiency in programming languages and tools commonly used for AI and analytics (e.g. Python, R, or equivalent).
• Experience in supporting the development and deployment of digital applications or software platforms.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, sensors, device integration, and IoT architectures.
• Experience working with connected devices, edge systems, or hardware-software integrations is preferred.
