What you will be working on
Brief description of Job Scope:
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director, you will undertake the following:
1. Drive the review and redesign of volunteer roles to augment delivery of protective and rehabilitative services
2. Drive the end-to-end management of executive volunteers serving on committees within RPG, including the recruitment, appointment and engagement of these volunteers
3. Oversee the planning, coordination and organising of appointment and engagement events for executive volunteers, community volunteers and foster families
4. Oversee the volunteer awards nomination process to ensure deserving volunteers are recognised for their service and contributions
5. Lead the team in providing secretariat support to executive committees
Responsibilities:
As part of the Volunteer Corps, you will play an essential role in supporting the team across several key areas of executive volunteer management within RPG's Protection division.
You will lead systematic reviews of volunteer management practices and schemes, conducting operational analysis to identify enhancement opportunities and process improvements. You will also analyse volunteer data to inform strategic decision-making and ensure programmes remain relevant and effective in meeting organisational needs and volunteer expectations.
You will lead comprehensive volunteer management functions, including the recruitment, appointment, and reappointment processes for executive volunteer committees. You will also plan, coordinate, and execute appointment and engagement events for volunteers and foster families, ensuring meaningful engagement and recognition across different volunteer initiatives.
In addition, you will provide essential secretariat support to executive volunteer committees, coordinating meetings, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring effective follow-up on committee decisions. You will also oversee the volunteer awards nomination process and coordinate recognition initiatives for executive volunteers, community volunteers and foster parents.
What we are looking for
Requirements
• Educational Background with at least 2 years of relevant experience in social service or volunteer-related portfolios
• Leadership capability to guide comprehensive volunteer management functions and drive strategic initiatives
• Analytical skills to conduct systematic reviews of volunteer management practices, identify process improvements, and analyse volunteer data for strategic decision-making
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage volunteers and stakeholders. Experience working with executive and community volunteers would be preferred.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Self-directed, forward thinking, adaptive to change and able to work in a fast-paced setting
• Interest in making a difference to vulnerable children and families
