Assistant Manager/Manager, Tour & Industry Development
What the role is
What you will be working on
Tours
As a key TID member, you will shape Singapore’s Travel Agent and Tours ecosystem through the Travel Agent Roadmap. You will have the opportunity to build deep knowledge of the tour and activities eco-system and become well-versed in technology solutions and business models that can help tour operators move towards sustainable growth. Working with travel agents, tour operators and channel partners, you will develop or refresh quality tour products that drive tourism spend from leisure and MICE travellers. You are also expected to understand the future consumption of tour products by consumers, identify enhancements of and/or new tour genres that will help Singapore deepen its variety of quality tour experiences.
As account manager for key tour operators, you will develop business acumen, understand industry challenges, and identify growth opportunities. This includes providing targeted support and administering various grant schemes such as the Experience Step-Up Fund (ESF) and Business Improvement Fund (BIF) grant for the industry.
Industry Development & Education
Leading the Travel Agents x Tourist Guides (T2AG) industry updates, you will organise regular virtual/ on-site sessions that keep travel agents and tourist guides at the forefront of destination developments. You will champion best practices in tourist guiding, operational excellence, and sustainable tourism practices, ensuring our industry partners deliver exceptional visitor experiences.
T2040 Segment Lead for Luxury, Sustainability & Active Silvers
As segment lead for Luxury, Sustainability and Active Silvers, you will drive targeted account management support to TAs cultivating high-value travellers. You will anchor initiatives to enhance channel building, tour experiences and itineraries that resonate with discerning luxury and active silver travellers, whilst championing sustainability certification, education and best practices across the industry.
Other Exposure
Given the dynamic nature of the industry, you will gain exposure to diverse workstreams beyond your core portfolio. This includes opportunities to contribute to the Travel Agents & Tourist Guides Industry Forum (TATG's annual industry event), explore emerging technologies for tourism, and strategy/ policy development initiatives.
What we are looking for
At least 1 year of working experience, preferably in the areas of industry development and/or strategic planning
Strong analytical mindset with good verbal and written communication abilities.
Independent worker who thrives in collaborative team environments.
Good project and stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to interpret financial statements - to review the financial documents required for grants administering
