Statistician (Household, Income and Population)

What the role is

The Household Income Statistics section plays a pivotal role in shaping Singapore's understanding of household income and wealth distribution. This position offers the opportunity to develop income and wealth indicators that directly inform policymaking and support whole-of-government initiatives on social inequality.

What you will be working on

You will design and refine the frameworks for measuring household income and wealth and support the development of comprehensive indicators for policy reviews and strategic decision-making across government. You will be involved in reviewing the methodology and estimation approaches, aligned to international guidelines while adapting to Singapore’s national context. You will compile robust household income and wealth estimates to meet diverse analytical needs and conduct in-depth analysis of inequality trends to support important research studies. You will assist in maintaining and enhancing our statistical databases, to integrate the wide range of data from survey and administrative sources and work with complex datasets from various data sources and collaborate with them to resolve data inconsistencies and ensure the integrity of the databases. This involves data ingestion, processing, validation, and verification to ensure and improve on data quality. Your work will also cover the preparation of statistical releases, analytical articles, visualisation, and presentation to aid in the understanding of the data.
