What the role is

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. Manpower Branch of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) manages all Human Resource (HR) matters of the officers. Our primary role is to ensure that the interests of our officers are best taken care of. As a Manpower Officer, you play an important role in ensuring all officers’ records and benefits and relevant monetary payments are in order. You must be a people-centric critical thinker and be able to look out for the needs of both organization and staff. You will be placed under the Management Executive Scheme.

What you will be working on

As a business partner to all other units in the Dept, you will familiarize yourself with the organization structure and needs, and be expected to offer alternative views with the intention of improving existing practices, including automation and/or using new tools. You will liaise with the staff at all levels of CID as well as stakeholders and counterparts in other related units. You will have opportunities to be part of project teams to enhance processes or advance the organisation. You are also required to perform preliminary staff assessment of expected deliverables before formulating appropriate recommendations, address queries from staff promptly and accurately based on latest policies and facts.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a pro-active and resilient individual who is always open to learning new things in our fast-paced environment. REQUIREMENTS • Possess good interpersonal skills to engage officers at all levels; • Meticulous and independent worker who can work with minimum supervision; • Good stress and time management and able to meet tight deadlines; • IT savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint); • Intermediate competency in MS Excel; and • Prior experience in HR would be an advantage.
