What you will be working on
As a member in our EIA team, you will be responsible for:
1. Develop and review PUB’s internal EIA governance framework to ensure that water infrastructure projects are compliant with the government’s environmental impact assessment framework and any other environmental regulations.
2. Track the status of PUB projects within environmental sensitive areas to ensure mitigation are in place to minimise delays due to unforeseen environmental concerns.
3. Work closely with project teams to plan, execution and manage water infrastructure projects that have potential environmental concerns.
4. Provide environmental technical support to PUB project teams from feasibility study, design to construction phase (i.e. scoping and reviewing of EIA reports, reviewing of environmental monitoring plan, and coordinating with regulating agencies.
5. Plan, execute and manage nature groups engagements.
6. Plan, coordinate and carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies and Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) studies to facilitate planning and implementation of future water infrastructures.
What we are looking for
• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Life Sciences, or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of Singapore's environmental regulations and EIA requirements, with at least 3 years of experience in environmental impact assessment, environmental management, or related fields in Singapore’s context.
• Experience in environmental legislation and policy will be an advantage.
• Experience in Nature Group engagement will be an advantage.
• Excellent project management and coordination skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• A strong sense of initiative; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• The ideal candidate should also possess a passion for sustainability, is self-motivated and have ability to thrive under tight deadlines. They should be adaptable to a nascent and evolving role and demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp new information.
