As part of the RPG family, the Prevention and Operations Policy Division (POP) is responsible for the overall prevention efforts, strategic planning, operations policy, data management and digital transformation for RPG.
What you will be working on
You will be part of the Data Operations and Management (DOM) section that is dedicated to managing and leveraging data, systems and technology to drive operational excellence and strategic decision-making for the Protective Services (PSV). As a Assistant Manager/Manager, you will serve as a key member of the DOM team, reporting to the Manager/Senior Manager/Assistant Director to oversee critical data operations and management functions that support RPG's mission.
Brief description of Job Scope:
• Data Operations Excellence: Support in end-to-end data management processes for key PSV datasets, including child protection, adult protection, adoption operations, and services overseen by PSV. You will work with a team to ensure data accuracy, completeness and timeliness across data collection and reporting processes, whilst maintaining compliance with MSF's data governance policies and practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement: You will work closely with pillar teams to understand business context and data requirements, serving as a trusted partner in translating operational needs into data solutions.
• Analytical Rigour and Decision Support: Provide analytical support for management queries, policy questions and operational planning needs to enable data-driven decision-making within RPG. You will be expected to present complex data insights in clear, accessible formats for diverse audiences, from frontline staff to senior management.
• Data Quality and Governance: Facilitate data quality initiatives by implementing data completeness checks, developing data entry principles, and working with pillar Service Planning teams to create data dictionaries for key reported data. You will support the Domain and Process Data Stewards in tracking data quality metrics and addressing data management issues across the data lifecycle.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of self-service capabilities through data repositories, Case Central live dashboards, and PowerBI dashboards to reduce repetitive data requests and empower teams with real-time insights. You will identify opportunities to streamline data processes, enhance efficiency and improve the overall data maturity of RPG.
• Provide secretariat support for workgroup or meetings and for any tasks as required by the Director.
• Any other duties assigned by the Reporting Officer and Director.
What we are looking for
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences and Data Science.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in data management and analysis.
• Experience in processing data using Microsoft Excel and any other data management software.
• Certifications and experience in using data visualization tools such as PowerBI is advantageous.
• Ability to code and process data using R and Python is a bonus.
• Familiarity with case management systems (e.g., ECRM, Case Central) is advantageous.
Generic Competencies:
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences and tailor messaging for different stakeholder groups.
• Meticulous attention to detail and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines, particularly during peak periods with concurrent urgent requests.
• Enjoy teamwork and able to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new business contexts, particularly in the social service and protection domains.
• Experience in the public sector, particularly in social services or data governance roles, is a bonus.
