What you will be working on
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment for MINDEF/SAF service personnel with mental health needs
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship for junior psychologists to enhance their professional development
- Oversee the department's mental health initiatives to ensure excellence in service provision and continuous improvement
- Provide training and advise on mental health management across clinical and operational aspects of patient care
- Develop and implement psychological interventions that extend into both clinical and operational aspects of patient care
- Ensure Psychological Specialist Services (PSS) maintains high standards and adapts to evolving challenges in military mental health
- Support applied research initiatives to advance psychological practice within the military context
Challenge(s)
- Ensuring Psychological Specialist Services (PSS) can effectively address the complex mental health challenges faced by military personnel across clinical and operational environments
- Balancing direct patient care responsibilities with supervisory duties and departmental oversight whilst maintaining excellence in service delivery
What we are looking for
- Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Psychology (Practitioner Track) from a recognised institution
- At least 6 years of working experience in direct patient care and supporting caregivers in a mental health clinic setting. 6 years of experience is preferred
- Demonstrated competencies in Applied Research, Training and Instructional Design, and Mental Health practice
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills with experience in psychological interventions
- Clinical supervision experience with ability to mentor and develop junior psychologists
- Willingness to occasionally travel to camp or overseas for psychological intervention in critical incidents
- Understanding of military culture and operational environments would be advantageous
