Manager - Biorisk and Biosurveillance (Contract)
What the role is
What you will be working on
You will be part of the Biorisk and Biosurveillance team under the Veterinary Health Division (VHD) of AVS. As a member of trans-disciplinary team in AVS, you will be responsible for managing research projects on biosurveillance and work with various stakeholders including Institute of Higher Learning, industry and One Health agencies in implementing biosurveillance projects across multiple species.
You will be involved in the following duties:
Manage a portfolio of biosurveillance research projects, including monitoring research deliverables and progress, managing their performance, and ensuring proper disbursement of funding to institutions, in close collaboration with the grant management office and technical leads.
Assess and process requests for collaboration e.g., sharing of data, publication requests and review the data collection and publication procedures.
Assist to prepare biosurveillance research grant call material in new research areas
Provide secretariat support (e.g. coordinate meetings, discussions, enquiries) for the Biosurveillance Research Programme Office and organise engagement events to promote biosurveillance research and foster collaborations among NParks, One Health agencies and researchers.
What we are looking for
- Areas of study in Science or related fields.
- A meticulous and resourceful individual with the ability to work well independently as well as in a team.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Prior experience in grants, research management or research would be an advantage.
