What the role is
To ensure the safety of air navigation and serve CAAS’ and industries’ objectives, you will be required to master and apply your expertise on the: (a) provisions in the Convention on International Civil Aviation and its annexes, in particular Annex 14 on aerodromes; (b) mapping of Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS), as well as assessment of obstacles around Singapore’s aerodromes in relation to the OLS; (c) relevant Singapore legalisation and regulations.
What you will be working on
Working closely with policy officers within ANSP Division and legal experts to refine and enhance regulations governing Singapore’s OLS regulatory framework, and ensure the safe and equitable use of airspace
Potentially participating in international expert groups to aid in enhancing international regulatory frameworks and safeguard Singapore’s interests
Assisting the Head in overseeing the team’s full range of day-to-day administrative and operational matters, and in enhancing and tightening administrative, operational and reporting processes, where necessary
Engaging internal and external stakeholders to facilitate outcomes and advance the team’s work, including working with:
Other government agencies, as well as individuals, groups and organisations, to ensure that current and planned developments of buildings and other activities conducted in Singapore’s airspace does not impede existing and future aviation needs
The aerodrome operator in assessing airport development plans to ensure they do not disrupt air traffic control and aerodrome operations
What we are looking for
At least 3 years of experience dealing with safety management in the aviation sector
Trained in instrument flight design procedures
Ability to think clearly and multi-task
Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to conduct briefings to internal and external parties
Meticulous, possess a flexible mindset and the ability to quickly grasp complex issues
Willingness to work with different stakeholders on resolving issues
Knowledge of autocad and ArcGIS software is advantageous
