What the role is

The Legal Technology Transformation Office (LTTO) and Legal Partnerships & Futures Division (LPFD) are divisions within MinLaw’s Legal Industry Group, with a mission to shape Singapore's future as a global legal powerhouse. LTTO develops strategies and implements initiatives to enable law practices and legal professionals to harness technology in a safe, responsible and sustainable manner, supported by quality infrastructure and a thriving legaltech ecosystem. LPFD leads MinLaw’s engagement with the legal sector, including Singapore Law Practices, professional bodies, in-house counsel and other stakeholders in various areas of interest, including legaltech. Given the close alignment of the responsibilities and objectives of LTTO and LPFD, your role will straddle both divisions and will interact with the Legal Industry and Talent Development Division and other internal and external stakeholders to chart the future of legaltech adoption and innovation and engage the legal sector through: • Monitoring, anticipating, and contextualising the impact of new technology on the legal sector, and developing responses to them. • Developing legaltech adoption strategies for the legal sector, including Singapore-based in-house counsel. • Enhancing the vibrancy of Singapore’s legaltech ecosystem through strategic partnerships, capability development, and fostering innovation activities locally. • Formulating grant policies and overseeing the administration of grant programmes to support Singapore Law Practices in adopting IT solutions and consultancy services. • Strengthening the cybersecurity posture of Singapore Law Practices through policy development, guidance frameworks, and capability building initiatives. • Working with relevant stakeholders to enhance access to justice through technology adoption. • Designing and implementing a comprehensive engagement strategy for the legal industry. • Regularly communicating with various industry stakeholders to maintain key relationships in the legal arena and manage stakeholder relationships. • Promoting initiatives that aim to enhance the competitiveness of the legal sector, including those relating to legaltech and internationalisation of legal services.

What you will be working on

Your key responsibilities will include: • Formulating and reviewing grant policies to enhance programme effectiveness. • Managing grant programme administration, including evaluating applications, monitoring compliance, and fund disbursement. • Engaging with Singapore Law Practices, technology vendors, and other stakeholders for the purposes of grant programme administration and building and maintaining key relationships in the legal arena. • Organising and managing engagement sessions and developing briefing and presentation materials. • Designing and administering policies or programmes to enable law practices and legal professionals to discover legaltech, drive adoption and build digital capabilities.

We welcome candidates from diverse academic backgrounds. While legal qualifications and/or relevant work experience are an advantage, your passion and potential matter most. Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance, subject to renewal. #LI-SW1
