Planner / Senior Planner - Park Planning (Contract)

What the role is

As a Planner or Senior Planner in Park Planning team within the Policy and Planning division of NParks, you will shape our City in Nature through the master planning and safeguarding of parks, park connectors and other green spaces.

What you will be working on

You will evaluate land use proposals and guide the incorporation of greenery provision, recreational spaces and biodiversity interests within new estates and developments. You will also participate in inter-agency collaboration to achieve national outcomes for climate, social and ecological resilience.

What we are looking for

• Areas of study preferably related to the built environment  (e.g. Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Real Estate, Geography, Engineering)  

• Ability to objectively analyse, evaluate an issue and form a judgement.

• Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as integrate within a multi-disciplinary team.

• Ability to manage and negotiate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

• Prior working experience in a similar role and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) skills will be an advantage.
