What the role is
What you will be working on
As a Scientific Manager / Executive Scientific Manager of the Ionising Radiation Control Department in the Regulation Division, you will enforce radiation safety regulations and advance Singapore’s radiation protection framework through:
- Enforcing the Radiation Protection Act and its Regulations, and ensuring regulatory compliance across all radiation users.
- Inspecting medical and industrial premises that store/use irradiating apparatus/radioactive materials.
- Preparing inspection reports and assessments based on the information gathered from inspections.
- Responding to radiological incidents if necessary.
- Assisting in the assessment of health and environmental impacts of radiation.
- Assisting in the processing and issuance of radiation licences in accordance with the Radiation Protection Act and its Regulations.
- Performing other duties as may be required of you under purview of the Regulation Division.
What we are looking for
Job Requirements:
- At least a polytechnic diploma in a science or engineering related discipline.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Highly self-motivated and resourceful.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- Organised and able to multi-task.
- May be required to perform night inspections occasionally.
- Candidates who possess their own vehicle may have an added advantage.
