What the role is

The Data Office champions the overall HR data strategy for the whole-of-government and PSD. We are responsible for end-to-end solutioning to allow PSD to use data effectively in developing its policies and programmes, as well as to drive adoption and evolution of HR data analytics across the public service. To achieve this, the team leads initiatives to refine existing practices and approaches to HR data analytics, encompassing the full spectrum of activities across the data lifecycle, including an enterprise-wide data strategy, governance, analysis, collection, management, engineering, operations and advice.

What you will be working on

The incumbent will be part of the Data governance team supporting Chief Data Officer (CDO) and PSD Data Governance Council (DGC) in delivering enterprise-wide data strategy and governance. As part of the Data Governance team, you will: • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across PSD and WOG HR community to understand needs and gather feedback so as to develop and implement Whole of Government (WOG) HR data policies, standards and procedures aligned with the Government Data Strategy. • Educate, communicate and provide consultation to WOG HR community with regard to the interpretation and implementation of HR data policies, standards and procedures. • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders within PSD to understand needs and gather feedback so as to develop and implement PSD enterprise data policies, standards and procedures and aligned with the Government Data Strategy. • Educate, communicate and provide consultation to internal stakeholders with regard to the interpretation and implementation of Government data policies as well as PSD enterprise data policies, standards and procedures to improve data management awareness. • Supports PSD CDO in in his duties and responsibilities to translate the Government Data Strategy imperatives and align PSD data management and exploitation efforts with the Integrated Data Management Framework (IDMF). • Supports PSD Data Governance Council (DGC) to deliver on PSD Data Strategy and Governance initiatives. This includes performing DGC secretariat duties, develop and implement measures to deliver DGC asks such as data lineage mapping, incorporate AI for data management. • Provide guidance on the investigation, resolution and reporting of data-related incidents.

What we are looking for

An ideal candidate should possess the following: • [Thinking Clearly and Making Sound Judgement] Ability to grasp issues quickly and to think independently and critically to translate Government Data Strategy imperatives into actionable policies and processes for the organisation. • [Working Effectively with Stakeholders] Strong communications and stakeholder management skills, adept at exploring issues from a user-centric perspective and contributing to a collaborative working environment. • [Data Governance] Keen interest in enhancing data governance across WOG including strategy development, audit and compliance evaluation. • Preferably at least 2 years of working experience in organisational data governance and data policy administration.
