We are looking for a dynamic and industry-engaged Lecturer/Lead to join the Business Innovation Centre (BIC) within the School of Business. This role supports teaching, industry engagement, and applied learning initiatives in the areas of Human Resource Management, AI Fluency, and Business Transformation. It plays a key role in driving value exchange between the institutions, industry partners, trade associations, and government agencies.

The BIC services include diagnosing business capability gaps, designing business capability development solutions and deploying them and follow up with determining if the solution is effective.

Key Roles:
The Industry Engagement/Partnerships lead is responsible for supporting the Business Innovation Manager in the centre’s industry outreach to forge value-added partnerships and collaborations with industry partners and relevant agencies in the areas of human resource, digitization, and sustainability.

There will be opportunities to work on industry-co-created curriculum, introduce new modules/courses on emerging skills to address key trending issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Administrative work related to marketing and business development and the Centre/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job too. Successful candidates will be expected to have a growth mind-set, and be adaptable to the ever-changing industry landscape, both in the domain industry as well as the education sector. He/she is also expected to demonstrate resourcefulness and innovation, with forward-looking initiatives as well as good communication skills.

In addition, the appointee must be competent to teach in at least two or more of the following areas:
- HR-related disciplines such as, but not limited to, Employee Engagement & Relations, L&D, Performance Management, Career Agility, etc
- HR Technologies and Analytics
- Applied Generative/Agentic AI for Human Resource workflows

What you will be working on

Responsibilities:

  • Seek out and business develop possible collaboration opportunities through student projects, staff consultancy and CET workshops.
  • Stay abreast of current developments and trends in HR, Job Redesign, automation, analytics, UXC/DT, artificial intelligence (Generative and Agentic AI), and ESG/sustainability.
  • Execute outreach activities including learning journeys, learning fests, trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Support stakeholder engagement with public and private sectors to foster partnerships and enhance stakeholder relationships.
  • Co-develop internal capabilities to build schools in domain areas such as HR, Job Redesign, Automation and ESG, particularly on the social pillar.
  • Support operations and administrative work such as report preparation, budgeting, contract management, secretariat duties and etc.
  • Any other duties, including cross-divisional projects or events, that may be assigned by the centre.
  • Conduct lessons, create teaching and assessment materials, and facilitate learning for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) students.
  • Keep abreast of current developments and trends in the areas mentioned above to develop and maintain relevant and up-to-date teaching curriculum. This includes review of existing curriculum with a view to making recommendations on areas of improvements that would enhance students’ performance, learning & employability.  
  • Support SkillsFuture initiatives and marketing effort for CET programmes.
  • Handle administrative work relating to teaching.

What we are looking for

Requirements:-

  • More than 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in Business Development or Consultancy, or Project Management, education and training related fields such as professional development, learning and development, or workforce development, and a track record of establishing partnerships to deliver corporate objectives.
  • Resilient and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong passion in mentoring both PET and CET students and show genuine concern for their development.
  • Proven ability to engage with the industry on HR, HR AI & Automation and Analytics Enterprise Transformation and Sustainability consultancy projects.
  • Technical proficiency with end-user Generative AI and Agentic AI workflow tools (for example Copilot Studio for agentic workflows, AWS Quick Suite, Workato Agentic workflow, or equivalent in addition to standard use of OpenAI, Gemini, Claude etc).
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resource, Business/ or equivalent.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
