Engineer - Senior Principal Engineer (Gas System Performance/ GSD)
What the role is
What you will be working on
Responsibilities:
Establish technical regulatory frameworks and enforce the gas licensee's compliance with regulations, codes of practice and performance standards for a reliable and secure gas supply system;
Conduct investigative work for gas supply disruption and gas facilities/equipment/pipelines failure;
Assess and conduct audit on licensees' gas safety cases to ensure the risks associated with the activities are kept to as low as reasonably practicable;
Conduct system reviews with gas licensees to identify vulnerabilities and mitigating measures to enhance system reliability;
Support the review of EMA's crisis management and emergency plans as well as working with gas licensees on their emergency preparedness; and
Support the energy transition in the development and subsequent enforcement of technical and safety regulation of low-carbon fuel alternatives.

Possess good communication skills – concise and coherent
Possess strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, to work well with a range of stakeholders both within and beyond the public service and understand their different perspectives
Be driven and resourceful, whether working independently or as part of a team
Candidates with relevant experience in infrastructure planning and/or operations to ensure plant safety and reliability will be viewed favourably, although this is not necessary.
