Engineer - Senior Principal Engineer (Gas System Supervision/ PSOD)
What the role is
What you will be working on
Responsibilities:
Assess and co-ordinate gas transmission system scheduled/ad-hoc maintenance requests by GasLicensees.
Conduct review of contingency plans for restoration of gas supply in the event of gas emergences.
Monitor and review the realtime gas transmission system operation to ensure the reliability and security of the power and gas system and recommend changes if necessary.
Assist in the analysis of the gas transmission network/facilities performance and gas system disturbance statistics to identify potential vulnerability and improvements required.
Investigate and prepare report on gas transmission system disturbance or abnormal gas system condition.
Assist in the review of the department's work practices and procedures for efficiency and productivity improvements.
Monitor and ensure the relevant Generation Licensees' compliance with the regulatory fuel changeover framework
Review Gas Agreements, Codes of Practice, Gas Network Code, Natural Gas SOP, Gas Network Code SOPs and recommend changes for improvements where necessary.
Conduct study on gas-electricity interdependency to ensure adequate gas network survival time for power system stability and assess impact of gas supply disruptions on electricity generation.
What we are looking for
Requirements:
Specialisation in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant background in Engineering.
Relevant knowledge/experience in the following areas would be an advantage
Power/gassystem studies and analysis including system dynamics.
Prior experience in power/gas system operation.
Team player with strong interpersonal, communication (i.e.written and spoken) and analytical skills.
