The Ministry of Law ensures a sound and progressive legal infrastructure, intellectual property infrastructure and insolvency regime, and optimizes land resources, to support national goals. In the Corporate Insolvency Division (“CID”) of the Insolvency & Public Trustee's Office (IPTO), the Official Receiver (“OR”) has regulatory and administrative functions under the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 (“IRDA”) and you will be tasked with operational policy development in respect of the insolvency processes under the law.

What you will be working on
You will be responsible to do one or more of the following:
1. Design, review, and refine regulatory measures and framework to ensure alignment with overarching policy objectives of maintaining oversight of the conduct of insolvency practitioner (“IP”)’s work.
2. Conduct analysis on the impact of existing and proposed laws, regulations, and standards, and recommend amendments or new legislation where necessary.
3. Develop, review, and refine standard operating procedures overseeing the complaints process for complaints filed against IPs or company officer holders and ensure consistent application of the standard operating procedure.
4. Engage IPs and public agencies and stakeholder organisations in obtaining feedback and ground sensing to make legislative amendments / regulatory reforms that are practical and forward looking for the IP industry.
5. Work with Legal Division and AGC Legis in ensuring that policy intent is met in the legislative amendments.
6. Work with IT service providers in ensuring any system enhancements are accurately translated into the operations.

*Personal Traits/Work Experience*
1. Academic training preferably in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Public Policy.
2. Work experience of 5 to 7 years.
3. Good written and verbal communications skills.
4. Resourceful in conduct of research
5. Self-motivated and task oriented
Successful candidates will be appointed on a 2-year contract in the first instance. Any extension of the contract will be subject to availability of post, job performance and/or manpower needs.
