What the role is

As Manager (Communications) for the Institute of Digital Government (IDG), you will drive our digital media, marketing, and content strategy to accelerate digital upskilling & AI adoption across the Public Service. Your primary objective is to establish IDG's digital presence and build conviction among public officers to adopt new digital tools. You will play a critical role in ensuring IDG is perceived as an innovative and dynamic driver of public sector transformation.

What you will be working on

• Digital Platform Management: Set up and manage IDG’s public facing website, social media, and internal communication platforms. • Digital Content & Communications: Plan and execute communication campaigns to drive interest and attendance for IDG's programmes. You will storyboard, write copy and produce multimedia content to build an active presence across IDG’s public and internal platforms. Examples include including short instructional videos on digital tools, infographics, and social media content. • Digital Marketing & Analytics: Monitor and analyse engagement metrics across all IDG digital platforms to evaluate campaign effectiveness. Extract actionable insights to refine digital marketing strategies and optimise audience reach and engagement. • Brand Implementation: Implement brand guidelines and ensure consistent visual identity across all public-facing materials and digital platforms • Any other duties as assigned

What we are looking for

Technical Skills & Tools • Video & Audio Production: Proficient in video editing and production software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and CapCut. Experience in storyboarding, filming, and post-editing processes to produce assets adaptable for various digital platforms. • Graphic Design: Strong aesthetic sense with hands-on experience using design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Canva to create shareable graphics, infographics, and IDG corporate branding materials. • Generative AI Tools: Experience with using Generative AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, ChatGPT, Canva AI) to generate video or visual content. • Digital Marketing & Analytics: Understanding of digital marketing principles and performance metrics. Ability to use tools like Google Analytics (GA4), Meta Business Suite, and email marketing platforms to track campaign effectiveness, extract data-driven insights, and optimise audience reach. Professional Experience & Attributes • Background: 2 to 4 years of working experience in digital marketing, visual communications, or content creation. • Copywriting & Storytelling: Flair for writing impactful, platform-specific copy (e.g., short-form social media captions vs. long-form articles). Ability to translate complex technical concepts such as AI workflows into easily digestible and engaging narratives for a non-technical audience. • Project Management: Organised and capable of managing multiple digital campaigns concurrently while meeting deadlines independently. • Trend Awareness: Familiar with the latest social media trends and marketing technologies, and able to apply them appropriately within a public sector context.
